I have enjoyed strategizing ways to reach learners across different fields of study and proficiencies. I have designed and adapted over twelve 16-week courses. I consistently privilege learning that pairs face-to-face instruction with digital learning spaces.
In 2016, I adapted my in-person Intro to Theatre course into an online asynchronous course for the Department of Theatre at the University of Kansas. The shell of this course was built in Blackboard. Developing a theatre course into a LMS came with successes and challenges. Although the course highlighted students attending productions across the country, it remained difficult to find ways to reproduce in-class theatrical exercises into an online platform. I am proud of the work, collaboration, and creative thinking that emerged between my experiences and those of subject matter experts across the university. Below are representative examples from this project.
